Myriad blessings are continuously gracing our lives. May we be filled with this
awareness, swimming in thanks day and night. May we thrive and realize that All Is
in Perfect Divine Order.
The Raw Spirit Maui Retreat was quite possibly the coziest, loveliest, simplest,
funnest, fullest Raw Spirit event of 2009. We reached full capacity of 150
participants, not including the whales and dolphins who casually dropped in.
In the spirit of fishes and loaves (without need of any animal products nor the
baking of bread), we provided ten scrumptious raw vegan organic meals for our family
of 150 friends twice a day for five days - without a budget! It was quite a joyous
feat by an amazing array of contributors. We foraged for and harvested virtually all
we ate. Ecstatic Embraces of Deep Thanks to the incredibly devoted, resourceful and
cheerful volunteer harvesting team, and very generous local islanders, as well as
the incredible chefs and their dedicated love-vibin' volunteer crews who created
much magic while singing up storms of nutritious deliciousness in the kitchen.
Weather angels gifted us a week (actually months!) of smiling sunshine, the most
heavenly weather imaginable with persistent starry nights and 'solid' blue skies.
The beachfront stage we set beneath a spacious tree whose leaves and branches
comprised a beautiful natural stage canopy. Stellar performances and presentations
by the most Beloved Family of Generous Raw Spirit Performers inspired us to sing,
dance, celebrate, commune and improve our daily lives.
We achieved our goal of minimizing waste and walking the talk as a green event
because everyone agreed to bring our own bowls and spoons to reuse. Thank You So!
SO WHEN IS THE NEXT RAW SPIRIT?
As soon as sufficient funds are raised. If everyone now receiving this email offered
$10, Raw Spirit would be debt-free and ready to provide wonderful events in 2010
starting with:
Raw Spirit hiking, camping, and swimming (and helicopter-optional) excursion to
Havasu Falls deep inside Arizona's Grand Canyon this late May or early June,
followed by one national Raw Spirit Festival at Watson Lake Park in Arizona's
gorgeous Granite Dells this Sept 24th to 26th, only if funding comes in, ending
with a Raw Spirit Maui Retreat on Dec 28th, the Universe willing.
In 2009, Raw Spirit Inc, 501C3 educational non profit, broke even with the Raw
Spirit Arizona Festival and Maui retreat managed by me, yet the Santa Barbara and
Maryland festivals resulted in tremendous financial losses under new experimental
financial management (now part of educational history) coupled with the unusual
economy which meant loss of ticket sales and most of our dedicated sponsorships
(though most sponsors came as vendors instead). All this happened while I was out
and about on an extensive and necessary festival speaking tour. I am paying off the
debts as rapidly as possible using innovation as we do, coupled with the massive
assistance of your donations! Meanwhile, writing grants is the new foremost
occupation of Raw Spirit's one current staff member who has been volunteering with
no pay since June 2009 and for most of the past five years.

If you'd like to join me by writing a grant and/or arrange a substantial sponsorship
or donation for the continuation of the festival, Raw Spirit is offering a generous
10 percent of the proceeds to you or to your organization.
VISIONS and FUTURE ASPIRATIONS
We are just getting started! Beside wishing for another Raw Spirit East - this time
near New York City next year, plus 100 Raw Spirit potluck celebrations (mini-fests),
please help us lead the way to bring Raw Spirit to the Himalayas of India, Bhutan,
Bali, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Burma, South Africa, Morocco, Puerto Rico,
Central and S American and Europe. It is also our goal to bring these healthy-living
ways into hospitals via fresh organic juices given to patients and into prisons via
demo-talks about gardening within prisons with donated organic raw vegan meals and
books.

has one vacancy for a long term guest ($300/ month) and is re-opening for short term
guests immediately after Anaheim's Expo West. Come join us in celebration at
Arizona's most enchanting, spectacular raw retreat home as we plant the spring
garden on the New Moon of March 15th.
